InTheBlack is the event for networking, maximizing value from your BlackLine solutions, and driving the next wave of accounting and finance innovation. This year’s conference is back in Los Angeles and it’s designed to help you accelerate digital finance transformation at your organization.

If you haven’t read the first five reasons to attend InTheBlack, head over to that blog first. Here are three more reasons you’ll want to be at InTheBlack 2019 on September 16-19.

Guest & Celebrity Main Stage Keynotes

Everyone loves a good scandal, and there are valuable lessons to be learned from financial scandals in particular. This is why we’ve invited Tyler Shultz, the whistleblower from Theranos, to give a keynote.

On Tuesday morning, Tyler will talk about ethics, compliance, and the importance of building trust, internally and externally. He’ll also answer questions like, how can a company acquire a $10 billion valuation built on fraud, and what leads someone to defraud hundreds of employees, thousands of investors, and millions of patients on an unprecedented scale?

We’ll close out the morning with the authors of the Freakonomics series, Stephen Dubner and Steven Levitt. It’s been almost 15 years since Freakonomics was published, but it’s still highly relevant today, and the Freakonomics podcast is reaching hundreds of thousands of people every week.

The authors will go deep into the esoteric sides of economics, and talk about the impact incentives have on everything from your finance transformation projects to your human relationships.

On Wednesday morning, Therese Tucker will be interviewing Billy Jean King, former world number one professional tennis player and barrier breaker. She created new inroads for men and women in sports and beyond during her legendary career, and continues to make her mark today. Their conversation is sure to be a conference highlight.

The Sandbox

If you’ve attended InTheBlack before, you already know the value of digging into The Sandbox. This area allows you to test new elements of your implementation or new BlackLine features. Product Managers will give you an in-depth walk through of our roadmap, and you can help design the future of BlackLine with feedback on what you think will work best for you and your users.

Our team of expert solution consultants will also be there to show you more ways to use the products you already own, and other products you’re interested in learning more about.

Customer Success Lab

The Customer Success Lab is your opportunity to engage one-on-one with a Customer Success Manager, who works with customers just like you every day to help optimize their BlackLine solutions.

Molly Boyle, director of solutions marketing at BlackLine says, “I was always amazed and continue to be impressed by the number of new enhancements that the product team is coming up with on a semi-annual and sometimes even more frequent basis.

“It’s always a great opportunity to sit down, log into your instance of BlackLine with someone who’s an expert, and really explore how you can get more out of it. Maybe you have some questions that are difficult to answer over the phone or via email—what better way to get those knocked out than to stop by the Customer Success Lab and schedule some time with one of our experts?”

You can also meet with our Accounting Innovation team who can tackle your most challenging reconciliations, helping you get them out of spreadsheets and into BlackLine.
