InTheBlack, the industry’s largest event, is coming back to Los Angeles on September 16-19.
Here are five reasons why you’ll want to attend this year’s Finance & Accounting Innovation Experience.
InTheBlack is created around content, and this year’s conference will have more than 100 hours of unique content for you and your accounting teams.
That’s more hours than there are in the four conference days, and will be spread over 200+ sessions, including celebrity guest keynotes, 150 breakout sessions, numerous workshops, and customer panels.
The six breakout tracks will include thought leadership and exploration of new products and features. We’re also excited about the 50+ customer presenters who will talk about everything from change management to automation success stories, with plenty of live Q&A.
You’ll have the opportunity to earn 15-20 CPE credits, and this year, it will be far easier to earn the max amount.
With so much content on the agenda, we wanted to highlight a few of the many sessions you’ll want to attend.
Let’s start with the Rec Templates 101 series. These were formerly called BlackLine Bits, and this year, we’re combining the 15-minute segments into longer sessions. This will give you more time to dive deep with the experts, ask your questions live, and get group feedback—not only from the experts, but also from others in the room who might be using those templates.
Also back by popular demand is a series called I Didn’t Know BlackLine Could Do That. This is for teams who already have BlackLine’s solutions, but aren’t using some key features that might be able to save time, especially for system admins.
A customer session to highlight is Why End-To-End Automation Didn’t Stop at Account Recs & Tasks for SiriusXM. This will give you a window into how SiriusXM reconciles more than 7 million transactions a month automatically, with a 99.9% accuracy rate.
Another interesting session that’s brand new is How to Accelerate & Optimize Your Close. This will give you a process deep dive on journal entries, and you’ll learn how to eliminate some journal entries later in the close to shave days off of your close process.
BlackLine U Workshops are always very popular with our customers, partly because they include hands-on demos and offer CPE credits. We’ve got a great lineup again this year, and will be running these sessions from Monday through Thursday morning.
The workshops are first-come, first served, but because of their popularity, we’re expanding the room size to allow more customers to attend. We’re also repeating sessions, so if you don’t make it into the first session, consult the agenda to see when that workshop is happening again.
Here are just a few of the workshops on the agenda:
Account Reconciliations for Preparers, Approvers & Reviewers
Maximizing the Benefit of Items Cross Functionally
Automate Your Reconciliation Process with Matching & Journals
Our sponsors not only help us make this event happen—many of them also attend InTheBlack, giving you the opportunity to interact with top experts in our industry. Experts from organizations like EY, Deloitte, and SAP have a wealth of experience helping companies just like yours implement BlackLine and ensure you’re getting the most out of your solutions.
So, whether you have a question about your implementation or are looking for best practices for a new use case, head to the Sponsor Hub to interact with the 20+ sponsors who are joining us for this event.
Some of our sponsors will also be delivering main stage keynotes and speaking during sessions throughout the conference. There will be a happy hour on Monday, September 16—the first day of the conference—where you can engage with the sponsors and have the chance to win prizes during a scavenger hunt.
Speaking of prizes, another great reason to attend InTheBlack is the swag.
As you earn BlackLine bucks throughout the event, head to the Bull Market to pick out some fun BlackLine merchandise. This year, we’ll be featuring a new premiere line, with items like Nike shoes and a skateboard.
Molly Boyle, BlackLine’s Senior Manager of Solutions Marketing, says, “When I was a customer a few years back, I collected my BlackLine bucks throughout the conference and went home with an Amazon Echo. A few of my coworkers did as well.
“Be sure to collect those bucks, take advantage of the opportunities to earn them, and take something home, either for yourself or your family.”
If these reasons aren’t convincing enough, stay tuned for the next five reasons you should attend InTheBlack 2019.
In the meantime, head to our InTheBlack website to view the agenda and learn more about this year’s event.
