Compliance, data and process integrity and accounting and finance automation key topics at 9th annual BlackLine European user conference

LOS ANGELES and LONDON – Feb. 26, 2019 – Leading financial controls and automation software company BlackLine, Inc. (Nasdaq: BL) is hosting its ninth annual European user conference in March in London, home of the company’s EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) headquarters, to serve the company’s growing base of customers in the region. With an overarching theme of ‘Trust is in the Balance’, InTheBlack London 2019: The Accounting & Finance Innovation Summit (ITB London 2019) will focus on best practices for accelerating the financial close while ensuring the highest levels of trust and accuracy in ‘the numbers’ as companies increasingly seek to transform their Finance & Accounting (F&A) organizations.

The 2-day conference will feature speakers from regional BlackLine customers, including cloud business management software and foreign exchange/international payments industry leaders Sage and Travelex respectively, with representatives from each sharing best practices learned by automating critical F&A processes using BlackLine’s cloud platform. Thought leaders from Deloitte, EY and SAP also will provide insight on leveraging technology to streamline F&A operations.

A key focus at this year’s conference will be automating and streamlining manual processes to help improve data accuracy, visibility and control. This builds greater internal confidence, accountability, and trust by reducing risk and ultimately impacting key decision-making. Attendees of ITB London 2019 will learn first-hand how leading-edge organizations have transformed their F&A departments and modernized their traditional record-to-report processes.

In addition to keynote presentations from BlackLine CEO Therese Tucker and other BlackLine experts, Business Transformation Leader Michael Ryan will deliver a leadership keynote on strategies for growth and innovation, including how to overcome challenges related to creating sustainable change. Finance and Strategy Consultant Darryl Bannon will emcee the event offering insights throughout on scaling the finance function, including the importance of developing strong financial management practices and leveraging technology.

F&A professionals from other BlackLine customers around the world are registered to attend, joining the BlackLine team in London. As part of the company’s ongoing commitment to strengthen its global operations to provide clients everywhere with superior service, BlackLine has designed the 2-day event as an interactive session for attendees to share their ideas on how F&A can get the most value out of the BlackLine platform.

Both new and experienced users who attend the London sessions will be given an opportunity to:

  • Learn best practices from BlackLine’s team of experts and customers

  • Hear how experienced users from other regional companies creatively use BlackLine

  • Preview upcoming software enhancements

  • Directly influence the product direction going forward

A special session at this year’s conference will be hosted by British media personality, television presenter and journalist Phil Spencer who will be joined by Everest in the Alps teammates, including Capital One UK’s Chief Counsel Rupert MacInnes and BlackLine Account Director Mark Lindblom, who will share their inspirational story highlighting the power and importance of building trust within a team as they committed to and completed the “toughest four days on skis” to support The Brain Tumour Charity.

ITB London 2019 will be held Wednesday to Thursday, 13-14 March, at Bishopsgate London. For more information, go here.
