BLACKLINE NAMED ONE OF THE COUNTRY’S BEST WORKPLACES IN TECHNOLOGY BY FORTUNE AND GREAT PLACE TO WORK®

Financial Automation Software Provider Ranks #15 Nationally on List of Top U.S. Technology Companies with Fewer than 1,000 Employees

LOS ANGELES – Jan. 31, 2017 – BlackLine, Inc. (Nasdaq: BL), a leading provider of financial controls and automation solutions that enable Continuous Accounting, has earned a place among the country’s ‘Best Workplaces in Technology’, an annual ranking recently revealed by consulting firm Great Place to Work® and Fortune magazine. BlackLine took the No. 15 spot on the list of‘Small and Medium-Sized Companies’ (fewer than 1,000 employees) in the United States.

The Best Workplaces in Technology ranking is based on employees’ assessment of their companies’ culture, management, opportunities for advancement and other traits that add up to an exceptional workplace. BlackLine employees were surveyed about career development opportunities, risk-taking, work-life balance, compensation and recognition, transparency, camaraderie and other factors. Responding to the survey, 94 percent of employees said BlackLine is a “great place to work” and 97 percent said they are “proud to tell others they work for the company.”

At the root of BlackLine’s culture is a simple mission statement: “Think. Create. Serve.” The results of the survey validate BlackLine’s open culture and commitment to employee engagement. Other key findings include:

  • 97 percent of employees say BlackLine’s facilities contribute to a good working environment

  • 96 percent said special events are celebrated

  • 95 percent of employees feel a sense of pride with their accomplishments

  • 95 percent are able to take time off from work when they think it’s necessary

BlackLine was previously named one of the country’s ‘Best Companies to Work for’ by Fortune and Great Place to Work, taking the No. 65 spot on the list of the ‘100 Best Medium Workplaces’ (between 100 and 999 employees) in the United States.

The Best Workplaces in Technology is one of a series of rankings by Great Place to Work and Fortune based on employee survey feedback from Great Place to Work-Certified™ organizations.
