Director, Cloud Automation - 14121

The Cloud Automation director will design, develop and build automation tooling to manage the blackline applications.  This is a hybrid Devops/Development role focused on delivering improvements to our core automation for management of the SaaS application.  The person will also be responsible for our GCP Migration program, including working with our PMO, Customer teams and outsourced vendors to ensure that we have hardened data, automation scripting and capabilities to ensure a high migration success rate.

  • Experience writing, maintaining and architing automation pipelines to perform repetitive tasks and address gaps in product features/functionality
  • Design, Oversee and drive the GCP Cloud migration program to achieve annual OKR’s for migration and ensure successful migrations for every customer from our private cloud
  • Work with Cloud leadership to identify automation opportunities and areas for his team to streamline and improve the capabilities of our cloud team.
  • Create and maintain automations with Python, Golang, Powershell or other languages
  • Define standards for automation, deployments, migrations and IaC standards
  • Collaborate with development, IT and cloud teams on requirements definition, capacity planning, and process refinement.
  • Perform RCA for various issues related to internal incidents and carry-out action items
  • Adhere to existing operational processes and maintain operational documentation.
  • Contribute knowledge, skills and personal qualities to a dedicated team of engineers solving automation challenges, on critical SaaS applications.
  • Monitor and manage the FCS Tools Automation ticketing queue (JIRA).
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to direct reports.
  • Participate in the interview process for prospective new team members.

  • BS, EE or CS degree with 7+ years related experience.
  • Hands-on experience with Devops tooling including Git, Chef, Containeraization, K8, or other Devops tooling
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of at least two of the following programming languages: C#, Ruby, Python, Groovy, PowerShell, Java.
  • Demonstrated history of developing or operating production web applications and solid understanding of HTTP(S), HTML, JavaScript, CSS, and XML.
  • Knowledge of software development best practices and SDLC.
  • Experience with a subset of: Chef, Puppet, RabbitMQ, Redis, Microservices, Consul, Vagrant, ELK, Akamai, OWIN, Katana.
  • Good general familiarity with current theory and best practices in the DevOps community.
  • Knowledge of test automation solutions and technologies such as Selenium, NUnit and POM.
  • Knowledge of information security principles and relevant technologies such as SSL, GPG, and SAML.
  • Experience with various cloud providers such as GCP, AWS, Azure.
  • Familiarity with Configuration Management tools such as Chef or Puppet.
  • Experience operating production systems.
  • Knowledge of new container technologies such as K8, Cloudrun, Anthos
  • The ideal candidate will have a background in software development.
  • Prior experiencing managing full-time employees in a distributed environment.
