Job Summary

The Manager, Global Learning Experience is responsible for leading the high-volume customer/partner Learning Experience function. This position oversees an internal team of Learning Experience Designers, focused on the design and development of innovative, learner-centered, and impactful learning experiences that enable strategic business objectives. The Manager, Global Learning Experience will act as a pivotal strategic partner to the Global Training & Education leadership, driving usage of content design standards, templates, and workflows across the team. This role requires knowledge and skill in adult learning strategy, instructional design, and learning technology.

The Manager, Global Learning Experience will guide team members in the conceptualization, ideation, design, and development of learning experience that may include eLearning, video-on-demand, instructor-led, and certification content using a suite of instructional design technologies that could include Articulate Studio, Camtasia, and other learning content software. The ideal candidate is comfortable playing dual roles of leader and individual contributor, both mentoring and coaching team members, and assisting with producing learning assets as needed.

The Manager, Global Learning Experience should be comfortable in a fluid, agile, hands-on environment, where priorities, needs, and requirements may shift as the Global Training & Education business grows and evolves. The right candidate possesses the ability to assist with strategy, participating in high-level planning, and can also execute down to a detail.

Roles and Responsibility (list in order of importance)  

  • Manage a team of Learning Experience Designers who develop and deliver training
  • Manage global training and curriculum initiatives including eLearning, video-on-demand, instructor led, and certification
  • Work with cross-functional stakeholders to support project plans, key deliverables, and milestones
  • Provide thought partnership on learning strategy and adult learning best practices
  • Assess existing courses for relevancy, quality, and consistency and work with subject matter experts to implement revisions or updates as appropriate
  • Evaluate team members' work and provide feedback to ensure the highest quality
  • Develop team members’ skills in instructional design, writing, visual design, and course authoring tools (related to the production of digital assets)
  • Monitor industry trends and present recommendations for on-demand education, including topics of interest and delivery methods
  • Serve as an innovative change agent for continuous improvement through improved/enhanced methodologies and technologies
  • Design, remix, upgrade and invigorate existing curriculum and courses to increase engagement, relevancy to our audiences, and overall impact
  • Build eLearning, video-on-demand, instructor-led and certification content, as needed
  • Identify and maintain training solutions that support the business strategy, as well as the product and curriculum roadmaps, in a scalable manner
  • Cultivate and implement new models and design templates, ensuring the best experience for the learner, reducing development time, and ensuring standards and consistency
  • Be the voice of the learner, ensuring their needs are at the forefront of our content efforts
  • Represent the Training team at key customer events including user conferences, etc.
  • On occasion, deliver content (across multiple product lines) to different audiences via classroom (public, onsite), virtual classroom, and recorded formats
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

Years of Experience in Related Field: 10+ years of experience in instructional design and corporate training, with a minimum of 5 years+ experience in technology and systems training, and 3+ years leading training teams

Education: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience

Technical/Specialized Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Expertise in instructional design methodologies and adult learning theories
  • Ability to lead, prioritize and balance multiple, on-going projects and adhere to project schedules
  • Understanding of SaaS implementation methodology and training touch points
  • Ability to work collaboratively, establish excellent relationships with customers and extended training team especially Implementation, Partner Enablement and Customer Success
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • Commitment to high-quality in training materials adhering to content design standards, best practices, and processes
  • Strong understanding of Learning Management Systems

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience using tools such as Articulate Studio, Camtasia Studio, Captivate, Microsoft PowerPoint
  • Experience with BlackLine or other common financial systems such as Hyperion, etc.
  • Accounting/financial background or understanding of these concepts
  • Experience using Smartsheet or similar project management software

Working Conditions

Remote position - Work is primarily sedentary in nature; no special demands required. May require up to 25% overnight travel.
