Job Summary

The Content Marketing Specialist at BlackLine will be responsible for researching, conceptualizing, and writing content in multiple formats to fuel BlackLine’s overall content strategy. This individual will also be responsible for copy editing content to ensure quality and adherence to BlackLine’s brand and style guidelines. This individual must have strong written and oral communication skills and a passion for writing and content creation, with the ability to distill complex concepts into clear, actionable content across the marketing funnel.

 

Roles and Responsibility 

  • Work cross-functionally to create content across the content marketing funnel
  • Provide copy editing support to the marketing organization to ensure the consistency and quality of content across mediums and channels and alignment with BlackLine content and brand guidelines
  • Support end-to-end processes related to content creation and distribution to enforce content operations and governance best practices
  • Work cross-functionally to Identify and evaluate opportunities for content optimization
  • Keep up to date with content trends, audience preferences, emerging technology, and industry standards
  • Monitor and report on content performance to fuel strategic content recommendations
  • Perform other duties as assigned 

Required Qualifications

Years of Experience in Related Field: 2+ years of experience in a professional role, creating content (marketing, education, other).

Education: Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience

Technical/Specialized Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Experience developing content across multiple content mediums (e.g., blogs, videos, etc.)
  • Understanding of inbound marketing and demand generation best practices
  • Experience working cross-functionally on content strategy initiatives
  • Experience working on a content team in the B2B software space
  • Experience creating and managing editorial calendars
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams to distill complex requirements and ideas into clear, actionable content across the marketing funnel
  • Knowledge of and experience developing content that maintains a consistent and appropriate tone across varied channels
  • Understanding of content governance best practices
  • A diverse portfolio of work

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of or experience in Accounting
  • Experience working in content operations or project management platforms such as Kapost and Wrike
  • Experience authoring and publishing content in a CMS

 

Working Conditions

Work is primarily sedentary in nature: no special demands are required.
