Job Summary

As directed by internal stakeholders and the Senior Directorof Global Events, The Events Planner role will oversee and organize events that  are impactful and align with the company’s overall initiatives. The role will ensure events are successful and cost-effective, paying attention to budget and time constraints.  With minimal supervision, the Events Planner will be responsible for successfully implementing virtual and live events that include, but are not limited to: trade shows, internal meetings, conferences, and prospect and client engagements.



Role and Responsibility (list in order of importance)  

  • Partner with internal stakeholders to understand the event's strategy, objectives, targets and success metrics
  • In collaboration with the department head, locate, contract and manage all resources required to support live and virtual events from start to finish according to requirements, target audience and objectives
  • Create and manage event timeline
  • Make suggestions to enhance the event’s success (i.e. virtual platform, location, speakers, etc.) in collaboration with supporting team members or vendors
  • Prepare event budgets and manage each event in adherence to the budget
  • Partner with department head to source and negotiate contracts with vendors, talent, staff, etc.
  • Lead promotional activities for the event, including partnering with internal and external resources for design, collateral, swag, and other promotional materials
  • Partner with department head to supervise all contracted staff – if applicable (event coordinators, caterers etc.)
  • Partner with internal stakeholders and department head to analyze the event’s success and prepare reports
  • Perform other duties as assigned



Required Qualifications

Years of Experience in Related Field: At least 2 - 4 years of recent experience in event planning

Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related field or Associates degree and 2 years related work experience

Technical/Specialized Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Computer savvy;  Proficient in MS Office.  Experience with Cvent, On24, other event related software, QuickBase and/or Wrike is a plus.



Effective project management skills

Knowledge of data analytics, including tracking KPIs

Knowledge of marketing techniques for event management

Knowledge of contracts

Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to tailor communications to the appropriate audience
