What is the event format for BeyondTheBlack® 2021?
The health and safety of BeyondTheBlack participants and BlackLine employees is our highest priority. This year, BeyondTheBlack 2021 will be a fully virtual event.
How much does it cost to attend?
This virtual event is free!
What sessions will be offered at BeyondTheBlack 2021?
You can find the latest agenda on the event website. Be sure to check back regularly for updates and more details.
What do I need to do on the day of the virtual event?
On the day of the event, all you need to do is click on the live event link found in your confirmation email or one of our pre-event reminder emails, and log in with your confirmation number and the email address you used to register.
Do I have to attend the entire event?
While we encourage you to enjoy the entire event to help you get the most out of it, virtual events bring the experience of an in-person conference to your personal computer. So, just like an in-person conference, you have the freedom to pick the sessions you wish to attend. The more sessions you attend and interactions you make, the more chances you’ll have to win some exclusive prizes. More details to come.
Can I pick which breakout sessions I attend?
Yes! You can choose any session you’d like to attend in each breakout session time block. You will have the opportunity to build your own agenda and add sessions to your calendar starting one week prior to the event. Before then, check out the agenda page on the event website for the most up-to-date session listings.
Can I ask questions during breakout and workshop sessions?
Yes, you will be able to use the chat function to ask questions during sessions.
If the speaker is unable to address your questions during the session, we will be sure to follow up with you afterward.
Where can I register?
You can register for BeyondTheBlack 2021 here, on this event website, by clicking on any of the REGISTER NOW buttons.
How long do I have to register for the event?
You can register for BeyondTheBlack up until the event start date.
When will I receive my confirmation email?
Within a few minutes of completing your registration. If you don’t see it in your inbox, please check your spam folder. If you still haven’t received it by the next day, please email beyondtheblack@blackline.com.
How do I login to the virtual platform?
Use the same email you used when you registered for the event, and your confirmation number as your temporary password. (Your confirmation number can be found in your registration email confirmation.)
When prompted, create a new password using your confirmation number again for your Temporary Password, then follow the requirements on the right to create a new password.
How do I build an agenda with the sessions that are right for me?
Find a session you would like to add to your personal agenda.
Towards the left of the session title and information, click the heart to "favorite" the session. You will be prompted with a message saying "Success. The session follow has been successfully made."
You may favorite a session on the Agenda and through the Speakers tab by searching for specific speakers and seeing the sessions they are speaking at.
To add a session to your personal calendar, click on the desired session and select the "Add To Calendar" button to the right of the session start time.
How do I create a Group Chat?
Start by clicking the mail icon in the top right corner of the screen (to the left of your profile picture).
Click on the button labeled "New group chat."
Create a chat name (required), and add all the attendees desired. Please note attendee profiles need to be public to add to a group chat.
How do I start a Video Chat?
Hover over the "Engage" tab, then select "Attendees" from the dropdown menu.
Search for the attendee you would like to video chat with. You can search by first name, last name, company, or title.
Click the attendee's name, then the "Call/Message" button.
Click the "Start Video Call" button in the top left portion of the chat box. Both attendees must be online for this button to appear.
What technology do I need to attend this event?
A strong and reliable internet connection and the latest version of your web browser is ideal for the best virtual event experience. Google Chrome is recommended for the event platform.
Do I need a webcam for the event?
A webcam is not required, but there will be opportunities for you to engage with fellow attendees on camera.
Are CPE/CPD credits offered?
Yes. Attendees will be able to earn CPE/CPD credits by participating in sessions during the live BeyondTheBlack virtual event. On-demand sessions are not eligible for CPE/CPD.
How do I earn CPE/CPD credits during the event?
CPE/CPD credits can be earned by attending the live sessions marked as CPE/CPD-eligible, attending for the required amount of time, and completing the polling questions or attendance checks throughout the session.
How do I receive my CPE/CPD certificate?
CPE/CPD certificates will be emailed to you following the end of the event.
