Deloitte, Northrop Grumman to Join BlackLine on Panel at SSON Finance Transformation Summit 2011
SR. FINANCE EXECUTIVES TO DISCUSS AUTOMATING ACCOUNTING PROCESSES IN A SHARED SERVICES ENVIRONMENT
LOS ANGELES – Sept. 16, 2011 – Representatives from financial software provider BlackLine Systems along with Deloitte and BlackLine client Northrop Grumman (NYSE: NOC) will be speaking at the Shared Services & Outsourcing Network’s (SSON) Finance Transformation 2011 show next week in Dallas.
Finance Transformation 2011 will bring together leading shared services and outsourcing professionals from around the world to share best practices for streamlining finance operations by incorporating “holistic vision and operating strategy, end-to-end process optimization, technology enablement, business performance management and sourcing strategy – whether that strategy is shared services, outsourcing or a combination of the two.”
Smart, efficient close to report cycles create a foundation for evaluating performance, supporting business decisions and satisfying external reporting requirements. Until now, finance departments have had to rely on spreadsheet-driven processes that often contain hidden errors, resulting in costly mistakes.
BlackLine Solutions Consultant and former Hallmark Cards Global Shared Services Accounting Manager Laura Sereduck, CPA, will lead a panel discussion entitled “The Road to Reconciliation: Closing with Confidence and Achieving Balance Sheet Integrity with BlackLine.”
Josephine Smith, CPA, and Pennie Jackson, finance department representatives from BlackLine client company Northrop Grumman, will share their experience on how global companies operating in a shared services environment can communicate better, improve efficiencies, increase productivity and reduce bottom line costs by implementing an automated account reconciliation and financial close system. Vijay Pinto, CPA, and a director in the finance transformation practice of Deloitte & Touche LLP, will also participate on the panel.
During the session, the panelists will discuss how automating traditionally manual accounting processes, such as account reconciliations, can virtually eliminate spreadsheets – and the errors/headaches that come with them. Attendees will leave the session with insight into how they can:
