BlackLine Teams with Habitat for Humanity Las Vegas to Launch New Program in Revitalization Efforts: “A Brush With Kindness”

LOS ANGELES – Oct. 21, 2011 – In recognition of “Make a Difference Day,” Habitat for Humanity Las Vegas will launch a nationwide program “A Brush With Kindness” (ABWK). Make a Difference Day is an all-encompassing national day of service dedicated to helping others — Habitat’s celebration of neighbors helping neighbors that was originally created by USA WEEKEND Magazine.

ABWK is a program that serves low-income homeowners who struggle to maintain the exterior of their homes. ABWK focuses on exterior home repair services such as painting, landscaping and cleanup.

“Habitat’s continuing revitalization efforts in neighborhoods like Vegas Heights is our way to help preserve these communities during this very difficult time,” said Chris Higgins, Interim Executive Director.

In support of ABWK, Los Angeles-based financial software provider BlackLine Systems has donated funding and volunteers to support Habitat for Humanity Las Vegas’ efforts to revitalize local communities. On Saturday, Oct. 22, 2011, BlackLine CEO and Founder Therese Tucker will be onsite, as well as up to 60 volunteers from the company, its clients and partner firms, to help paint, landscape and perform minor exterior repairs to the outside of Mrs. Mary Jimerson’s home located at 1024 Miller Ave., Las Vegas, NV.

“We understand that today’s economic climate is tough for a lot of people and realize we are very fortunate,” Howard Goldstein, VP of marketing, BlackLine Systems, said. “We’ve made it a company policy to give back to the community by working with organizations like Habitat for Humanity, which has helped many people rebuild their lives and start over.”
