Why BlackLine: Minimal IT Involvement
IT resources can be both scarce and expensive. For the initial BlackLine implementation, IT’s involvement is typically limited to the automation of data integration and single sign-on, if used. IT is not required to spec, purchase or setup any hardware or software in order to use BlackLine.
If IT resources cannot be scheduled in a timely fashion, some business users have simply uploaded their balance files through a BlackLine flat file interface. That way, the use of the application can progress even if IT is not readily available to assist with data integration efforts.
On an ongoing basis, there is no need for IT to schedule backups; patch operating systems and other structural tools, such as databases or virus software; troubleshoot hardware issues; or handle BlackLine upgrades. With BlackLine’s SaaS model, the service includes all infrastructure maintenance as well as upgrades to newer versions of the BlackLine application.
By minimizing IT involvement, business owners can take control of their BlackLine rollout. And, if needed, BlackLine can help via a variety of support options.
