Susan Parcells, Close Governance and Product Specialist, CPA

Susan is a Certified Public Accountant who graduated cum laude with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Northern Arizona University. Susan began her career in Audit and Assurance with Deloitte and Touche. She then served as the Assistant Controller for Beazer Homes, a publicly traded real estate company, followed by her role as Controller for NetPro, a small software company. Throughout her career, Susan has focused on process improvement around the accounting close process. This led to her next role as Associate Director of Global Close and Strategic Initiatives at Apollo, one of the world’s largest private education providers, where she implemented BlackLine. Susan immediately saw the value in what BlackLine had to offer. This  became the springboard to her joining the BlackLine team in February 2011 to drive the product design and help other accounting professionals focus on any problem areas.

Susan is presently the Close Governance and Product Specialist for BlackLine. Her greatest passion is helping others, which makes the role a perfect fit.  In her current position, Susan is responsible for product planning and execution throughout the product lifecycle, including: defining the product vision, gathering and prioritizing product and client requirements and working closely with development, sales, marketing, implementations and support to ensure client satisfaction goals are met. “The best part of my job is working directly with our clients to understand their needs and to do what we can to make their lives easier.”

Susan recently moved back to Southern California and is enjoying the beautiful weather and all that California has to offer. She loves to decorate and work on home improvement projects like painting and replacing floor coverings. She also enjoys spending time with family and friends. As an avid traveler, Susan has been to over 35 countries, and is looking forward to her next trip to one of the many places on her bucket list.
