Transaction Matching
BlackLine's Transaction Matching module is a state-of-the art matching engine with powerful, configurable rules-driven matching. Transaction Matching was added in response to client demand for an up-to-date matching system that integrated closely with the account reconciliation module of GLCM.
The Transaction Matching module consists of two primary components: a powerful behind-the-scenes matching engine that will perform matching functions as new data is imported into the system and a user interface. The matching engine is completely rule-driven. Utilizing sophisticated hash table technology, the matching engine is capable of matching up to 1 million transactions per minute. Actual performance may vary given the complexity of user-defined matching rules.
Unmatched transactions can be handled in a number of different ways:
Explanation only as to why transactions are correct and what they should match to.
Transaction(s) result in a journal entry.
Transaction(s) result in a reconciling item in the current period's reconciliation.
Transaction Matching can handle complex matching rules with variance, wild-carding, and selective filtering. The matching engine component is a high performance, background service that can be scheduled to run either during off hours or on demand.
Finally, the Transaction Matching module takes full advantage of the Alert Service, an integral part of GL Compliance Manager. The Alert Service allows email alerts to be generated off of any change of data in the system. For example, email alerts may go out if unmatched transactions break certain thresholds, new cases are created, or aging of unmatched transactions passes a certain deadline. Alerts are completely configurable and based upon individual company needs.
