Journal Approvals
The Journal Approval module is a post-posting approval process. Compliance regulations require that management sign-off on all manual journal entries. While some companies use functionality in their ERP systems, many others
have a paper-intensive sign-off process, often hand-signing hundreds of journals each month.
Journals (over a certain threshold) may be automatically imported from the GL on a scheduled basis. Responsibilities for approving the journals may be assigned via a rules-driven process. Journals may be initially routed to the preparer of the journal or sent straight to the approver. Either person may attach
supporting documents to the journals so that all documentation is kept in a central location.
Electronic sign-off is captured and stored with the journals, completely eliminating the need to print and sign documents. On an as-needed basis, auditors may be given access to review journals and supporting documents.
